Watch: Heavy rainfall batters parts of South Coast
Heavy rainfall has led to flooding in parts of the South Coast, with more rain expected to fall in other parts of the country on Monday.
A heavy downpour has hit the South Coast late Sunday evening, with Margate CBD hit hard.
Torrents of water have coursed from the main street down towards the beach, South Coast Herald reports.
It’s not the first time this has happened with the paving and such things having suffered previously at the mercy of the weather.
Residents and tourists are advised to stay off the roads if at all possible until the weather settles down.
According to Vox Weather, disruptive rain can be expected in several parts of the country tomorrow. An orange level 5 warning for rain resulting in flooding of settlements and roads, low-lying bridges is expected over the northern and eastern parts of Limpopo.
A yellow level 4 warning was issued for the northern parts of Mpumalanga and south-western Limpopo.
Gauteng, the extreme south-western parts of Limpopo, southern parts of Mpumalanga, eastern parts of North West, eastern parts of Free State as well as the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal can expect severe thunderstorms, leading to heavy downpours, excessive lightning, strong, damaging winds and large amounts of small hail.
