WATCH: Hundreds protest against farm murders at the Union Buildings
On Saturday, bikers and motorists went out in large numbers to demand state security to take action against farm murders and strengthen the justice system in dealing with these.

Hundreds of protesters gathered at the Union Buildings on Saturday, to raise awareness over farm killings and call on the government to take firm action against the perpetrators.
Bikers, motorists, the farming community, and hundreds of Pretoria residents embarked on a slow-drive from the N1 north and Sefako Makgatho Drive to the Union Buildings to raise the call of “enough is enough” with farm murders.
One of the organisers Kallie Roux said they gathered at the state bureaucracy offices to pray about farm killings and also to call on the police ministry to prioritise farm killings.
‘’We plead for the government to take action against farm murders,’’ he said.“These are no normal killings if you look at the nature of the killings, they can be quite brutal and we need the police to make sure that the perpetrators are brought to book.”

Second, to this demand, Roux said the protestors were also calling on the presidency to say something about farm murders. “This is our way of raising our voices against farm attacks and a way to condemn these killings.
“We feel it is important to have protests like this to show the farming communities that we stand in solidarity with them in their pain and their fight against the scourge on farm killings.’’
Sandra Joubert who also was part of the organising team said the protest was aimed at calling on South Africans to unite against farm murders.
“It is not about colour but it is about farm murders and everyone needs to stand up for our farmers.‘’We are also calling on the police department to stand against farm murders because they are part of the land also.’’
This comes after a week that saw several protests against farm attacks in some parts of the country.
On Friday, protesters gathered at the Bronkhorstspruit magistrate’s court calling for the court to deny bail to a 28-year-old man accused of being involved in a farm attack that happened in the area two weeks ago.
The case was postponed to Thursday, 15 October, for bail application.
