Watch: Tiger allegedly spotted in Johannesburg

Video footage, allegedly taken in Edenvale this morning, shows a tiger on the loose.

Residents are warned to keep their pets indoors after video footage of a tiger in Edenvale, Johannesburg, allegedly taken this morning, surfaced.

Reports were received that the cat was also spotted on Cabot Avenue and Terrace Road.

The Edenvale CPF has circulated a message stating that residents should not engage with the animal.

The Bedfordview and Edenvale News’ Stephan Lehman, is on scene together with the NSPCA and wildlife authorities.

The search for the animal has since moved to a veld between Eastleigh Ridge and Greenstone.

• Earlier in January, a tiger escaped in Walkerville to the south of Johannesburg. The tiger was eventually shot and killed after she attacked one person and killed several pets in the area.
