Weekend load-shedding suspended

Stage 2 load-shedding will resume on Monday morning.

Eskom says that lower demand on weekends will result in the suspension of load-shedding at midnight until Monday.

Stage 2 load-shedding is currently underway until 16:00 when it will be ramped up to stage 3 until midnight.

According to a preliminary schedule, stage 2 load-shedding will resume at 05:00 on Monday. The power utility says it will publish an update on Sunday afternoon.

Eskom says that since yesterday, five units have been returned to the grid with just over 20 000MW unavailable due to maintenance and breakdowns.
