Wheelchair-bound man found murdered on a farm in Winterton

No arrests have been made and a case of murder is being investigated by Winterton police

Police are seeking clues to the mysterious murder of a 46-year-old wheelchair-bound man on the Skietdrif Farm in Winterton yesterday (April 10).

At about 10.15am, police were summoned to the farmhouse where the man was pronounced dead on scene.

According to police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi, the deceased man’s mother arrived at the house and was informed by a female employee that the man was asleep in the bedroom.

“The mother of the deceased proceeded to the room. When she arrived, she found her son still sitting in his wheelchair with his hands tied behind his back. There were bruises on the deceased’s neck,” commented Captain Nyathi.

After an initial investigation, it was unclear if anything was stolen from the home. No arrests have been made and a case of murder is being investigated by Winterton police.
