Woman found dead in a bathroom at student accommodation in Pretoria
The woman, a cleaner believed to be in her 40s, was found with no pulse holding an asthma inhaler on Friday night.

A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found dead in a bathroom of student accommodation in Brooklyn, Pretoria, on Friday night.
This was according to Dean Slater, spokesperson for LifeMed paramedic services.
Slater said students staying at the premises discovered the woman, a cleaner, unconscious with no pulse holding an asthma inhaler in the bathroom on Friday night.
“They then called for help. LifeMed paramedics and the Brooklyn CPF responded to the calls. LifeMed assessed the patient and found no signs of life and she was declared dead on the scene.
“The students had already tried CPR to resuscitate her but were unsuccessful,” he said.
Slater said the cause of death was a suspected asthma attack, given the asthma pump found in her hand.
“The patient had a history of high blood pressure and an asthma pump was found in her hand which implies it might be an asthma attack which took her life.”
Slater said the woman’s next of kin were informed.
As her death was due to natural causes, a police investigation will not be necessary.
