Woman hacked to death in eMahlaleni, partner arrested

A 37-year-old man, believed to be the partner of a 34-year-old victim, is expected in court after she was hacked to death at home.

A 37-year-old is set to appear in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court today following the brutal murder of a 34-year-old woman.

Witbank News reports that the woman’s body was discovered on Friday evening in her house in Old Coronation in eMahlaleni.

Local police spokesperson Captain Eddie Hall says police received a tip-off from a neighbour and when they arrived at the scene, they found the lifeless body of the woman on the floor.

“The deceased was inside the house, on the floor with blood around her,” says Hall.

She was hacked to death, he adds.

The accused, a 37-year-old believed to be the partner of the deceased, is set to make his first court appearance today at the Witbank Magistrate’s Court, facing murder charges.
