Woman kidnapped from Carletonville – bank account cleaned out

The woman felt something like a bee-sting in her neck and felt dizzy thereafter.

A woman was kidnapped and forced to give her assailants all the money in her bank account after she was approached by two women and injected with a strange substance.

According to the Carletonville police, the incident happened at around 11:00 on Thursday, July 7 when the victim (36) had just returned to her car in the parking area next to KFC on Ada Street.

Two women approached her, saying they were selling Brazilian hair weaves. While talking to one woman, the victim felt something like a bee sting on the back of her neck.

She then started feeling dizzy.

The women loaded her into their car and took her to a parking spot at the Carletonville Civic Centre. When she came to her senses, two Nigerian men and an Indian man were standing outside the car.

The men demanded wanted R65 000 for her release. However, the victim told them she only had R5 000 in her bank account.

The men asked for her bank card whereafter the Indian man took out a card swipe machine and asked her for her Pin.

At first, she gave the wrong code and one of the women slapped her. When she eventually gave them the right Pin, they took the R6 000 in her bank account and then released her.
