Woman’s dismembered body found in Joburg

Severed parts of an unidentified woman’s body have been found in the bushes in Killarney, Johannesburg yesterday.

Hillbrow police spokesperson Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo said the body was discovered by a passerby who noticed an arm sticking out of one of the black plastic bags, Rosebank Killarney Gazette reported.

It seems the body was cut into six different pieces and the head chopped off as well, added Zondo.

Zondo said it appears the woman, believed be in her early 20s, was wearing a brown jersey, blue takkies and a traditional dress.

It is still not yet confirmed what was used to cut the body. Emergencey services, Gauteng forensics pathology service and police are on the scene for further investigations.

Meanwhile, three cut and headless bodies have been found around East Rand township of Etwatwa, Gauteng, Times Live reported.

“All the victims were men. All were found either naked or half dressed, and all had their heads chopped off and were missing organs or limbs,” a source said.

The motive for the killings was unknown

In February, the dead body of a 33-year-old man was found with the intestines cut out in Gamalakhe, KwaZulu-Natal.

“He was badly stabbed, and his intestines were cut out,” said police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka.

The motive for the killing was unknown.
