Would-be robbers nabbed in Sandton after crashing into delivery driver
Various law enforcement agencies searched for the trio's vehicle after an attempted robbery incident in Norwood.

Three men, who were sought for an attempted robbery, were on Saturday arrested after they collided with a delivery driver’s bike.
Before they were involved in the accident that subsequently lead to their arrest, the men reportedly approached and pointed a firearm at a Norwood resident who was moving their car.
According to a statement by Community Active Protection (Cap), the victim was able to manoeuvre away from the suspects who thereafter fled the scene.
“The incident was reported to the Cap command centre. Cap obtained the description of the suspects and identified the suspects’ vehicle, a black hatchback, that was involved in the incident,” read the statement.
Cap said this information was then relayed to the Cap Special Operations Team and SAPS. A number of law enforcement agencies was roped in and they went to look for the suspects.
“The team was lead by SAPS Gauteng SVC and assisted by SAPS JHB K9, the Cap Special Operations Teams and marshalls as well as other role players,” explained Cap.
The law enforcement agency said the vehicle the suspects were using was spotted in the Hyde Park area but that it was only when the suspects were on Rudd Road in Illovo that the officers decided to intercept them.
The suspects then, according to reports, decided to skip a red traffic light on Corlett Drive to evade arrest but they ended up causing an accident with a motorcycle delivery rider.
“The three were arrested, a firearm was seized, and the suspects’ vehicle was recovered. Paramedics were present at the scene to treat the injured delivery bike rider.”
The vehicle the suspects were using was later confirmed to have been stolen in an armed robbery in Douglasdale two weeks ago.
