A soccer coach from Alexandra – a township in Gauteng – stands accused of sexually molesting his prodigies.

The man, said to be one of the area’s ‘most brilliant soccer development coaches’, cannot be named because of the nature of the crimes and to protect the identity of the victims.

He was reportedly arrested by Bramley police in late November last year and made his latest appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court today.

During today’s court case, the state requested a further postponement to March 28, which was granted by the presiding magistrate.

It was confirmed in court that the accused has not yet been asked to plead to the accusations.
