BMW SA celebrates 325iS ‘Gusheshe’ with M240i-based homage edition
Only 33 examples of BMW South Africa’s 325iS Homage edition will go under the hammer, with all proceeds set to benefit local charities.
Celebrating the iconic 333i, BMW South Africa has announced the 333i Homage edition for the South African market.
However, that’s not the only homegrown model the German marque’s local arm is commemorating. Indeed, in addition to the aforementioned M2-based special edition, BMW SA has unveiled the limited-run model paying tribute to the 325iS ‘Gusheshe’.
Based on the M240i, the 325iS Homage edition’s 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder motor produces 285kW and 500N.m of twisting force, the former and latter available from 5 500 and 1 800 r/min, respectively. Power is exclusively sent to the Bavarian brand’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims the M Performance 2 Series dispatches the 0-100km/h dash in 4.3 seconds, before topping out at 250km/h.
So, what does the 325iS Homage edition package include? Well, for starters, a double rear spoiler, heritage-style wheels, a bespoke front splitter, and black door handles. The limited edition also gains the firm’s M Sport Pro package. Four exterior colour options are available: Mineral White, Sapphire Black, Skyscraper Grey, and Fire Red. The interior features Überkaro tartan upholstery for the central armrest, a commemorative plaque, and M Sport seats.

Like the 333i Homage Edition, the M240i 325iS Homage edition is strictly limited to 33 examples and will be sold via an online auction – the latter scheduled to take place on October 21. The reserve price for this 325iS-inspired BMW is set at R1 435 000. All proceeds will be donated to charities supported by BMW South Africa.
