Ferrari F76 unveiled as world’s 1st digital hypercar

Ferrari has unveiled the F76, the Italian marque’s first ‘digital hypercar’.

The F76 celebrates the 76 years the Maranello-based manufacturer has been competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the success the Prancing Horse brand has achieved in this lauded motorsport event.

The F76 wasn’t designed to be a production car, however; instead, it is the only digital asset of its kind – created for clients who belong to Ferrari’s exclusive Hyperclub programme. The F76 is an initiative that will help fund the 499P race car in the FIA International Endurance Championship.

Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, headed by Flavio Manzoni, the F76 doubles as a design manifesto for future Ferraris. The carmaker states that the concept is inspired by biomimetics, architectural principles, engineering and computer science.

The main design element of the F76 is its double fuselage, which separates the driver and passenger compartments. The central channel is integrated into the front bumper and splitter, complemented by a front wing that ‘hovers’ above retractable headlamps. At the rear, four taillamps are embedded within the wing, positioned above the diffuser. The front and rear wheel arches form part of the fore and aft spoilers, separated by distinct vertical cuts.

The profile of the F76 features three-dimensional livery with lateral louvres. The rear section is designed to help cool the car’s internal components by using advanced computer modelling to shape channels that direct airflow and release heat more efficiently.
