Theunis Nel, actor and presenter of the motoring show WOEMA on KykNet woke up on Thursday for the first time since his motorcycle accident on Monday morning on the N1 highway that resulted in his right arm being amputated.
His wife, Mareli Nel posted on the Theunis Nel – WOEMA – Updates! Facebook page that he had opened his eyes for the first time.
His manager, Anria van Heerden said: “I just spoke to the hospital. Theunis is AWAKE! He is reacting with his eyes. Please keep on praying! He opened his eyes for the first time this morning. He can’t speak yet, but he reacted with his eyes and his body. It seems that he is understanding everything we are saying.”
Nel had been sedated again and was still under intensive care at Unitas hospital.
More about his condition as it becomes available.
