Beauty Review: La Vita Spa

It is easy for me to believe that just one session of floatation therapy is equivalent to about 10 hours of restorative sleep, with detoxification results that are similar to a three-day fast!

When last did you treat yourself to T-I-M-E?

I couldn’t even answer that question until this past Saturday when my daughter (aged 11) and I took a drive out to The Breakers Resort in Umhlanga to visit La Vita Spa.

All I can say is, how is this not prescribed by doctors?

While you are enjoying Italian fruit cocktails, lemon water, olives and gerkins ‘on tap’ in the lounge, you are able to smell and read up on the different essential oils and select which one you want for your massage. Fun!

The full body massage was first on the list, you decide if you want light, medium or deep. It was the most soothing massage I have ever had with aromatherapy healing oils.

The way the therapists flip the towels and sheets around and still keep you comfortable is nothing short of having you feel like queen-B.

Laurette Batstone.

Our massage was followed by floatation therapy.

The new ‘go to’ for people who are highly stressed, have chronic pain, adrenal fatique, sleep disorders, asthma or are in rehabilitation. This was an amazing experience of sleeping on water.

Our last indulgence for our spa day was a delightful combo of three: jacuzzi, steam room and plunge pool (cold), followed by a shower.

We truly felt rejuvenated after spending over an hour in such tranquil surroundings, all to ourselves.

I didn’t even need a Sunday after this ‘Saturday bliss day’.
