Armed gang robs residents at Nkobongo rental complex

The men also allegedly also broke into four additional rooms that were unoccupied at the time.

Four residents were robbed after armed suspects allegedly targeted a rental complex in Nkobongo early on Sunday morning.

According to Umhlali police spokesperson Sergeant Makhosi Khumalo, the incident happened at about 4am when six men forced their way into the complex and targeted multiple rooms while residents were asleep.

“It is alleged that the victims were asleep in their respective rooms when they were awakened by about six unknown men who had broken into their rooms. The suspects demanded valuables and robbed the victims of various items,” said Khumalo.

Stolen items ranged from groceries to cellphones.

The men also allegedly also broke into four additional rooms that were unoccupied at the time.
“Investigations are continuing, and no arrests have been made at this stage,” said Khumalo.
