Holistic approach to education

 

A rich and unique history surrounds Darnall Primary School. The school originated from humble beginnings in 1916 and has grown into the good educational establishment it is today.

The school caters for pupils from Grade R to Grade 7. Darnall Primary celebrated their centenary in 2016 with many past pupils, staff and parents returning for the festivities.

If buildings could talk there is no doubt that the walls of Darnall Primary would tell tales of the trials, tribulations and successes of the generations of girls and boys who have passed through the school. The school’s pupils experience a holistic approach to education where the school strives to encourage sound moral values.

A team of dedicated teachers is committed to recognising and developing the unique potential of each child and to cultivate those virtues and skills that lead towards happy and rewarding lives. Academics are their number one priority.

The school has an outstanding record of academic achievement with many of their pupils annually receiving scholarships and bursaries to attend leading high schools.

Darnall Primary School’s facilities include air-conditioned classrooms each with white boards and e-beam, beautiful gardens, new sports fields, a well-stocked library and a computer centre with an interactive Smartboard.

A variety of sports and cultural activities allow every pupil to develop selfconfidence and self-discipline.

All round participation is encouraged and every child is given the opportunity to be actively involved in all aspects of school life. At Darnall Primary, they encourage integrity, honesty, personal responsibility, manners and respect for others. #BEFIRST
