Holiday bucket list

To make sure you experience the best of the Dolphin Coast, we have put together our top picks for the ultimate holiday adventure.

A beach like no other

When it comes to beaches, Christmas Bay is an absolute must. This untouched gem is perfect for a relaxing wallow in the rock pools away from the crowds. The many rock pools make it ideal for children and although there are no lifeguards, most little coves are well protected.

The sky is the limit

Treat yourself to an unforgettable microlight flip along the Dolphin Coast with Comefly!Pilot Centre that operates seven days a week, weather permitting. Flights leave from the school and range from 10 to 30 minutes long. You will take in magnificent views of the gorgeous coastline, and you might even spot dolphins, turtles or whales as you fly over the ocean. Contact: 084 2663 359

One for the history books

South of KwaDukuza in Groutville lies the home of Nobel Peace Prize winner Chief Albert Luthuli which became a museum in 2004. His grave is in the nearby Groutville Congregational Church cemetery. Contact: 032-5596822

Dose up on animals

Ride a pony, hold a snake and meet the wolves at the fun-packed Flag Animal Farm set in Sheffield Beach off the P228 road. They offer interaction shows, tractor, train and pony rides too. Opening times: 9am – 4:30pm every day. Contact: 032 947 2018.

Get your adventure on…

Adrenaline seekers will love Club Venture where you can try out their survivor challenges, enjoy the flying zipline tours or get wet on the 70-meter-long water slide. Open six days a week, Sunday to Friday from 8am till 5pm, closing at 3pm on Friday. Contact: 082 414 2448 or 032 942 8014
