Stanger building saved from flames

Fire fighters' saved one of KwaDukuza's oldest buildings from a fire.

A fire threatened to engulf one of the oldest buildings in KwaDukuza this morning.

KwaDukuza fire fighters were called to J.N. Naidoo Centre on Mahatma Gandhi Street, where the top story was on fire.

IPSS Medical Rescue paramedic Paul Herbst said a child was initially believed to be trapped inside. However after firemen searched the building it was confirmed that the child had escaped. There were injuries.

“KwaDukuza fire department did a fantastic job. Well done to them,” said Herbst.
