It was all systems go at local government schools today as teachers and pupils enjoyed their first day back at school. The most exciting part of the day was the little Grade 1 pupils who were all over the moon about finally going to big school.
It was a morning of mixed emotions at schools across the Dolphin Coast as parents sent their little treasures off to their first day of Grade 1.
While many children were happy to settle in and make friends, a few were fighting back tears and weren’t too thrilled about the idea of spending a day in class.
