Find your forever home – advice from a RE/MAX agent

Chris was named the RE/MAX Dolphin Realtors ‘Agent of the Month’ for December 2016

After joining the RE/MAX family 14 years ago, it’s safe to say that Chris Morris had found his calling in life.

Described as ‘the best years of his working life’, Chris makes the most of every challenge on a daily basis and has reaped the rewards of aligning himself with the RE/MAX brand.

Chris was named the RE/MAX Dolphin Realtors ‘Agent of the Month’ for December 2016 for his expertise in the marketplace that regularly translates into satisfied buyers and sellers.

“I love the challenge of working with clients both buyers and sellers alike.  I endeavour to satisfy sellers – by marketing and selling their properties in the shortest amount of time while achieving a fair and market related value for the property.

“The satisfaction of a buyer is achieved by understanding the clients hopes, dreams and desires and matching this to potential homes and in so doing making their dreams come true.”

Selling mainly residential properties in Ballito, Chaka’s Rock, Salt Rock and Sheffield Beach, as well as most of the estates in the area, Chris has also ventured into selling commercial property as well as the odd farm.

From properties boasting beautiful sea views, to estates overlooking lush forest landscapes, Chris is an expert when it comes to finding properties that suit the buyer’s requirements within their price range.

“If we do not have what they are looking for I will do my best to find it for them.”

Advice for first time buyers – what to expect

When it comes to buying your first home, Chris advises buyers to make contact with an agent that they can relate to and trust.

  • “Tell the agent exactly what you are looking for in terms of price range, house or flat, area, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and so on, so that the agent can go through the potential property matches.”
  • Decide whether you are going to buy a starter home or your forever home. Generally speaking a starter home is a property that will suit your needs for approximately the next five years or until your circumstances change, whereas a forever home is a property that you can see yourself living in indefinitely or at least for the next 20 to 30 years. It is the home that meets all the criteria of your dream home – the right location, the right size and all the features you would ever want or need,” said Morris.
  • Ascertain your affordability by arranging a quick telephonic consultation with our bond consultants – this service is free of charge and our bond consultants are able to give you a very good idea of what you will be able to afford.
