Feel the love this February with The Holiday Express

Hop aboard for a memorable Valentine’s experience this month with The Holiday Express departing from Durban.

Choose between a romantic ride to the Shongweni Farmer’s Market on Sunday, 12 and Saturday, 18 February, or take an exciting morning trip to Scottburgh while sipping on a glass of wine on Sunday, 19 February.

The Shongweni Farmers’ Market Music Festival – 12 February

Registration is at 7am and the train departs at 8am. The full programme can be found on the website.

Enjoy live music on the day by Auto Pilot and international Duo Holy Smokes & the Godforsaken Rollers.

Registration on day of departure will be in the Premier Business Lounge at Durban Railway Station.

No refreshments or snacks will be provided on the train.

Bear in mind that delicious snacks, pastries, light meals and refreshments, including locally brewed craft beers are available from the many stalls at the market.

Please note: The Shongweni Farmers’ and Craft Market will be charging an entrance fee to their Music Festival on 12th February, R30 for adults and R10 for children. Holiday Express has included these fees in your ticket prices of R280 and R210 for adults and children respectively.

Shongweni Farmer’s Market – 18 February

Registration is at 7am and the train departs at 8am. The full programme can be found on the website.

The route inland passes through two tunnels and stops will be made at the two waterfalls to allow passengers to take photographs.

No refreshments or snacks will be provided on the train, so please feel free to bring your own.

The Scottburgh Valentine’s Train Experience – 19 February 

Registration is at 9am and the train departs at 10am. The full programme can be found on the website.

A range of refreshments, including wine, beer, soft drinks, biltong, peanuts and chips etc. will be available on the train. Remember to purchase your cash vouchers at registration.  You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments with you.

For the comfort of all passengers no smoking is allowed on the trains.

At this time of the year it is likely to be hot. We suggest you dress accordingly, but bring something warm should the weather change.
