Robcool ready to hand over the reins

Owner Robbie Carr is ready for retirement and is now looking for someone to take over the reins of his successful North Coast business

After a lifetime of cooling down the Dolphin Coast, Robbie Carr of Robcool Refrigeration & Air-conditioning in Umhlali is ready to hand over the reins.

Running a successful business for 36 years, Robbie is now on the hunt for someone to take over as he sells the business he built from the ground up.

With a brilliant reputation that has remained throughout the changing times, Robcool is well known for taking great care of every customer that walks through the door.

“One needs to be qualified and know air-conditioning and refrigeration,” said Robbie.

“A father/son duo or someone eager to grow a family business is recommended.”

The sale includes all stock and equipment, fully operational workshop to rent and well-known telephone contact numbers.

Robbie also has a number of long standing staff members who are eager to remain at Robcool and together hold years of valuable experience in the business.

“It’s been a really good few years, and I know the business is going with a good name.”

In a nutshell

After forming North Coast Refrigeration with his business partner Vic Smuts in April 1979, Robbie later decided to go into the business alone and soon opened Robcool.

“I was living on a farm in a timber log house which I converted into my workshop.

“I ran cables from the main house and set about supplying and repairing all types of fridges, freezers, air-conditioners and cold rooms.”

In 1985 he moved the business to Umhlali, where it has remained since.

Robbie is now ready to see the business go to new heights while he enjoys retirement.
