First class entertainment at Nu Metro
"Traditionally, movies are about coke and popcorn, but at Nu Metro we are giving our customers the experience of a lifetime"

Esteemed guests were treated to a night of exquisite entertainment at the glittering launch of Nu Metro Cinemas at the new Ballito Junction Regional Mall last week.
Hosted in the luxurious VIP lounge, the cocktail evening boasted live music, delicious snacks prepared from the VIP a la carte menu and an exclusive viewing of Beauty and the Beast (two weeks before it was to available to the public) in the Xtreme Cinema.
Xtreme caters for movie goers looking for a thrill, as it boasts the largest screen in the province, as well as the next-generation Dolby Atmos sound system – making it only the fourth Dolby Atmos-cinema in SA.
A number of local VIP guests joined in the festivities, including singer, actress and television presenter Patricia Lewis, East Coast Radio presenter Damon Beard and Flanagan & Gerard CEO, Patrick Flanagan.
VIP experience
VIP upgrades the movie experience to first-class, with luxurious recliner seating, a VIP lounge and bar, and an à la carte menu prepared in Nu Metro’s own kitchen.
VIP is the cinema experience of choice for discerning moviegoers who enjoy a cut above the regular cinema outing fare, with intimate in-cinema dining.
Acclaimed chef David Molopyane has come on board to create menu options that give cinema-goers a delectable and stylish alternative – along with cocktails, soda, popcorn and all the other specialised catering offering at Nu Metro.

“Traditionally, movies are about coke and popcorn, but at Nu Metro we are giving our customers the experience of a lifetime,” said David.
“Customers can relax and know they can have a meal inside the cinema.”
The menu boasts delicious meals with a simple concept that are easy to eat.
The menu includes a number of delicacies, including cheesy meatballs with a napolitana sauce, chicken drummets infused with herbs and servied with a spicy peri-peri sauce, Moroccan lamb kebabs served with chilled tzatziki, grilled halloumi buglets served with crisps and sweet chilli sauce and a classic crème brûlée, to name a few.
“Nu Metro will provide a delicious one stop shop for our customers – in-cinema dining personified, whilst delivering the best customer service ever.”
The VIP lounge has a fully licensed bar and both food and drink orders can be served to customers in their recliner seats during the movie.
