WATCH: Sweat for a cause at the Oxylisious Charity Event!

Join Angie Clausen of Oxylisious at this weekend's charity event and play your part in changing lives.

Work up a healthy sweat while grooving to great tunes with your bestie, all for a good cause at the upcoming Oxylisious Charity Event in association with Subz – Women with Dignity.

Hosted at Sound Cafe in Ballito this Saturday, the fitness event is in aid of helping young girls from rural areas who have been missing out on up to 12 weeks of school annually due to a lack of sanitary items during their menstrual cycle.

The solution? Subz – Women with Dignity provides reusable and washable sanitary pads.

Your entry fee will supply one girl with three pairs of Subz panties and nine clip-on and washable sanitary pads, which will last them up to five years.

“On arrival you and your friend will receive a refreshing health drink, before enjoying a 90 minute bums, tums and pilates workout,” said Oxylisious manager Angie Clausen.

“The morning will end off with a healthy chocolate breakfast smoothie.”

Your R220 entry fee is the average amount of money a household with three menstruating girls spends in one month on feminine hygiene products.

“This can give these girls the confidence to continue attending school during their cycles and encourage them to continue with their deserved high school education as normal. It is so unfair that these girls have to be negatively affected by a natural part of being a woman and have it affect their education in the long run,” said Angie.

Angie, who also owns Abalisious Pilates Health and Wellness, was first introduced to the Subz Washable Pads and Panties organisation when working with her client, COO of Hirsch’s Homestores, Margaret Hirsch.

Inspired by the work they do, Angie immediately jumped on board by organising and hosting this event.
