Little do many know, perc, which is widely used for dry cleaning fabrics has carcinogenic effects, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer. 

“We don’t do dry cleaning,” says Roy. 

The new advanced technology replacing ‘dry cleaning’ is called ‘wet cleaning’. 

Roy’s wet cleaning machines make use of a mixture of eco-friendly chemicals which are automatically measured and mixed according to the weight of each load added to their machines.

“Your suit, wedding dress or shirts which used to sparkle but are now stained or moldy and unrecognisable should come out looking as though they have just been bought.”

He continues to expand his business and is prepared for the return of the travel industry.

Roy recently introduced what he dubs the workhorse of his laundromat, an 8-programme Electrolux washing machine capable of washing at temperatures up to 95 degrees Celsius.

“This machine can also be as gentle as a baby, with settings which can take it down to the equivalent of hand-wash.”

“Given our equipment and methods it is unlikely that clothing will be damaged.”
