KwaDukuza rapper Renegade releases his first album ‘Saved’
'Saved' is a Christian rap/ hip hop album.
KwaDukuza rapper, Rashid Mlongo aka Renegade, has come back with a bang, recently releasing his first album, a product of his spiritual rebirth.
The album titled Saved was released under his record label ‘Renegade music and entertainment’ early this year.

Saved is a Christian rap album based on Renegades life and walk with God, bringing an honest, cool and refreshing spin on living and rapping as a born again Christian.
“Those who know me would have noticed that I have become a different person since I started attending church.
“Even my vocabulary has changed. You won’t believe how vulgar I was. My mouth was filthy, I could not finish a sentence without swearing,” said Mlongo.
But with him attending the Linc Church in Foxhill, Renegade said he has learnt to mind his language and regulate how much alcohol he drinks.
“I felt that needed to be said and I felt there was no better way of expressing my journey and thoughts than through music. I feel passionate about creating ‘clean Hip Hop’.”
Renegade has been a part of the underground Hip Hop scene for some time now.
He was a part of the supergroup, The Hip Hop Intellectuals, back in 2009.
He has two mixtapes (All-Star Hype – 2005 and KZN’s Most Wanted – 2014) under his belt.
The entire Saved album was written and recorded over two weeks in December 2019 and is available in music stores and on all online platforms for purchase.
Renegade recently appeared on Metro FM, on the “Rap Activity Jam” show with DJ Oskido and Rashid Kay, to promote his latest offering, which will be on heavy rotation at the radio station.
The artist has also been finding traction in the movie business, starring in a feature film in 2014 as a lead character in the movie “Finding Home”, directed by Vusi Madondo.
His most recent acting role was as businessman “Brian Morris”, on the comedy web series “Hot Mess”.
The stock controller at Netcare Alberlito Hospital said he has learnt that no matter where you come from and what you have done, you still have the opportunity to bring out the best in yourself.
“The only dead end is when you stop breathing, as long as you are still alive, you need to keep on working hard and analyze your actions and correct your mistakes and keep on going.
