Ashton International College Ballito – uniquely different

The Latin phrase "Sedulus Praestantia" translates to "Excellence Belongs to the Zealous"- the Ashton motto that echoes through every platform.

Senior College

The college is an amalgamation of subject specialists, state-of-the-art facilities and an experienced and efficient administration.

All pupils are encouraged to participate in the many extra-curricular activities the college offers – from dance and music to a variety of sports, community projects and clubs.

It is important for each pupils to explore and find their strengths and Ashton strives to unlock the potential that lies within every pupil, producing well-rounded young adults that will one day make a difference in the world.

Academic standards reach new academic records year-on-year thanks to Internationally recognised IEB and CAIE curricula.

The Latin phrase “Sedulus Praestantia” translates to “Excellence Belongs to the Zealous”- the Ashton motto that echoes through every platform of not only Senior College, but all our phases.

Intersen Phase

The ethos of the Intersen Phase of the Junior College, as well as the rest of the College, is based on the words of the school song, “This College was founded on faith in You, in this faith may Ashton grow and flourish”.

The college proudly combines its Christian values with excellence in learning to ensure that each child is taught and nurtured as an individual so they may develop according to their strengths.

The philosophy is grounded in faith and humility, focusing on serving the Ashton family and the greater Ballito community.

The Intersen Phase is led by a team of talented and dedicated teachers who mould precious pupils into independent, creative and confident young members of society.

A key focus area is developing a strong work ethic while encouraging a growth mindset which promotes critical thinking skills.

Foundation Phase

Foundation phase pupils are taught according to tried and tested methods that work well, while also maintaining new, cutting-edge approaches and being a ‘uniquely different’ school catering to academic, sports or cultural development.

Ashton boasts an extensive extramural programme, offering a wide variety of sport and cultural choices from grade R to grade 12.

Sport includes the traditional summer and winter codes as well as many other team and individual activities.

The Arts and Cultural Department offers chess, drama, an art club, choir, marimba band and many vocal and instrument lessons.

The college’s core values are teaching children resilience, love for others and respect for everyone.

Ashlings

When one walks through the doors of Ashton’s brightly coloured Early Learning Centre, one instantly feels the heart of the children, staff and school at large.

The centre’s programme is based on fun learning, promoting readiness skills that will prepare the youngsters for their formal schooling in later years.

The focus is on play-based, hands-on learning that ignites children’s senses, most importantly their sense of wonder.
