Good news for Suzuki aficionados and off-road adventurers is the arrival of the Suzuki Jimny 5-door.
The larger version of the beloved Suzuki SUV is set to take South Africa by storm with its unique blend of rugged off-road capability and practicality.
One of the most noticeable changes in the new Jimny is the addition of two extra doors, making it more accessible for those who need extra space and convenience.
While the five-door Jimny shares the same popular design elements as its three-door sibling, it boasts some impressive dimensions.
It measures in at 3 985mm in length, with a wheelbase of 2 590mm, providing extra room for both passengers and cargo.
With a width of 1 645mm, a height of 1 670mm, and a generous ground clearance of 210mm, this SUV can conquer any terrain with ease.
Under the hood, the new kid on the block continues to rely on the tried-and-trusted 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine, capable of producing 75kW and 130Nm.
This powerplant is paired with Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel-drive system, available with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox.
While fuel consumption may be slightly higher (claimed 6.4l/100km on the manual, and 6.7l/100km on the automatic) owing to its larger size, this SUV still promises an efficient ride.
Inside, the Jimny remains faithful to the Suzuki formula, offering a host of features to enhance the driving experience.
Notably, a larger 9.0-inch infotainment screen graces the dashboard, allowing for seamless smartphone pairing and other modern conveniences.
Automatic LED headlights, 15-inch alloy wheels, cruise control and hill assist are other features.
The Jimny has been known for its dependability as an off-roader, and the five-door version is no different.
