#BestofBallito: Ballito Laundry go from newcomers to award-winners

In just 18 months, the laundry specialists have established themselves as a community go-to.

In just a year and a half, Ballito Laundry has soared from a fresh start-up to being crowned Best Laundromat in the prestigious Best of Ballito Readers’ Choice Awards – a remarkable achievement that speaks to their trusted reputation and growing community support.

Founded by mother-and-daughter duo Michelle and Kayla Dold, the team also runs the popular holiday letting agency Beach Holidays KZN. Spotting a gap in the local market for quality laundry services, they quickly built a loyal client base thanks to their focus on reliable, efficient and friendly service.

“We are so grateful to all our clients for their ongoing support, we truly could not have done this without you,” said Michelle.

“Our goal has always been to offer the friendliest service at competitive prices.”

Ballito Laundry, conveniently located in the basement parking under 2 on Main in Chaka’s Rock, offers a comprehensive range of services: washing, drying, folding and ironing – all done with care and attention to detail.

“We serve residential customers, as well as spas, holiday rentals and hotels,” said Kayla.

“In addition to everyday laundry, we specialise in bulkier items like duvets, inners, curtains, carpets, towels and more, always with a focus on quick turnaround. We also offer collection and delivery on request.”

Their expertise even extends to professional stain removal, making them a go-to for tough laundry challenges.

Ballito Laundry is open Monday to Saturday in low season and seven days a week in peak season for maximum convenience. Every Thursday, pensioners can also take advantage of a R30/kg wash, dry and iron special – perfect for stretching those rands!
