
The following crimes were attended to by Umhlali SAPS over the weekend:
* Goods were stolen out of a VW Polo at Granny’s Pool in Salt Rock on Friday afternoon. The boot lock was damaged to gain entry.
* A man was accosted by two men wearing balaclavas at his house on Colwyn Drive on Friday night. The burglars locked him and his guests upstairs before stealing cellphones and wallets. The resident suffered multiple stab wounds.
* Three people opened cases of house breaking at the same residence in Kenwyn on Sea after an intruder entered the house on Friday night. The sliding was forced open to gain entry.
* Household items were stolen from a home in Sheffield Cove early on Friday night.
*A TV, laptop and jewellery were stolen from a house on Wilkes Road in Sheffield on Friday night.
* A resident was woken up by Umhlali SAPS at her home on Sandra Road on Friday night and informed that her house had been broken into. R14370 worth of goods had been stolen through the sliding door. Arrests have been made.
* Vallen Lodge in Ballito was broken into on Friday night. A TV and bedding valued at R11300 was stolen.
* A maid was accused of stealing R3500 out of her employer’s clothes that he left on his bed at his home on Salisbury road while he was out on Friday. After she did not return to work or answer his calls, he opened up a case at Umhlali SAPS.
* Siyaphimbili tuck shop in Shayamoya was broken into on Friday night.
* Early on Sunday morning a burglar held residents at knife point in their home on Jasmine Drive in Shakaskraal. He made off with cash, a laptop and two cellphones.
* A resident found that his bicycle had been stolen out of his garage on Colwyn Drive on Saturday afternoon. An arrest has been made.
* A resident in Shayamoya returned from vacation on Friday and found that her house had been burgled.
* A 1.4 Nissan was stolen from a house in Shayamoya on Saturday night. It had been left there for repairs.
* A man was assaulted in a sugar cane field on Kwangenya farm in Shakaskraal on Saturday. His attackers allegedly accused him of breaking into a shop.
* A woman was found on the R102 Etete river bridge on Saturday night with stab wounds to her neck and chest. She was treated by paramedics on the scene then taken to Stanger hospital for treatment. On the way there, she said that she had been raped but died on the way to hospital.
Umhlali SAPS arrested one person for possession of stolen property, four for possession of marijuana, five for drinking in public, five for disturbing the peace, two for road traffic violation and one person was arrested for selling liquor without a license.
