Windscreen smashed on the N2, Sibaya

The windscreen repair company have confirmed the damage must have come from either a brick or a big rock.

A woman was lucky to not crash her car when a rock hit her windscreen on the N2 north bound near the Sibaya off ramp on Thursday morning.

My windscreen just shattered,” said the driver Samantha Rafferty.

Rafferty, who lives in Waterfall, said she first thought someone was shooting at her when she heard the loud cracking sound.

“I am a very vigilant driver and did not see anyone standing on the side of the road and there were no bridges in sight.

“The rock must have been thrown from the left side of the road as it hit the windscreen on the passenger side.

Sam Rafferty was driving on her own in her Hyundai i10 Grand when the rock hit her windscreen.

Despite being in shock, she continued driving and stopped in Umdloti.

“I believe the rock was thrown with the hope that I would stop the car.

She said she would open a case with the police soon.
