A 25-year-old Ethiopian man was brutally murdered in his tuck shop in Shayamoya, near Shakaskraal this Friday.
After hearing gunshots, the man’s neighbours found him with an open wound to his head, a t-shirt tied around his neck and three gunshot wounds to his knee, shoulder and stomach.
According to Umhlali police, neighbours heard gunshots from the shop where the man also resided, shortly before two men using cellphone lights were seen leaving the premises.
“After a while neighbours went to the back of the tuckshop and called out to the deceased.
“There was no response.
“They entered into the tuckshop and found the deceased lying lifeless on his back, stripped down to his underwear.”
Three nine millimeter cartridges were recovered and the tuck shop had been ransacked.
The man’s cellphone was also missing.
