A case was opened at the Durban North Police Station last week against the person believed to be behind the Umdloti monkey poisoning incident.
Coast to Coast Special and Private Investigations’ investigator Sean Peirce said they had handed over all their evidence to the investigating officer.
Residents were outraged after 13 monkeys and a dog died after a troop of monkeys were recently poisoned. There were 22 monkeys rescued by Monkey Helpline, of which nine survived.
The community had rallied together and raised a R40 000 reward of which R20 000 came from Marshall Security and the other R20 000 raised by the residents.

“No arrest has been made,” said Deokaran.
