A 65-year-old man was beaten up by five armed men who broke into his house on his farm in Groutville this morning.
According to KZN SAPS spokesperson Thulani Zwane, the men physically assaulted the victim – before stealing his belongings, which included his firearms and his SUV vehicle.
“Police are on the look out for suspects. The victim sustained minor injuries,” said Zwane.
Shortly after the incident, the man’s bank card was used at a number of stores in KwaDukuza.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said the farmer was taken to hospital with injuries to his ribs, neck and head.
A case of house robbery has been opened at KwaDukuza SAPS.
