Security guards bound as thieves raid ATM at Ushaka Mall in KwaDukuza

Police have yet to make any arrests.

Two security guards were tied up when two men broke into an ATM at the Ushaka Mall in KwaDukuza on Sunday morning.

According to KwaDukuza police spokesperson, constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo, a 33-year-old security guard was approached by two men, who asked him how many security guards were at the mall.

He said there were two, upon which they apprehended them both, taking them to the underground parking where they tied them up against one another.

“The men then opened the backdoor of the ATM, allegedly using a cutting torch and took an undisclosed amount of money,” said Khuzwayo.

No arrests have been made.
