SURVEY: Have you been affected by crime on the Dolphin Coast this year?

All information will be treated confidentially and participants are requested to be as specific as possible.

The recent spate of burglaries on the North Coast has left many home owners questioning their safety.

In an attempt to stay up to date on all house break-ins occurring in and around Ballito, the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW) committee has launched a survey to collect data and form a profile around the incidents.

According to BNW chairperson Candice Henderson, the committee is trying to collect as much information as they can on both serious and minor incidents, as many crimes are not always reported to SAPS.

“With this information we can proactively move forward and better plan different crime prevention methods using a holistic approach,” said Henderson.

“Filtering through these incidents gives both us and residents a better perspective on crime in the area, allowing us to find solutions to curb the problem.”

“Many areas have it far worse than we do, and we don’t want to give our beautiful town a bad name.”

The three-minute survey requires information such as the case number, security service provider and any suspicious activity noticed prior to the incidents.

All information will be treated confidentially and participants are requested to be as specific as possible.

All questions are related to a single incident. If you have multiple incidents to report, you will need to repeat the survey.

If you cannot answer a specific question you may leave the field blank.
