Alleged whoonga dealer nabbed carrying drugs in Tongaat

The man is expected to appear at the Verulam Magistrate Court tomorrow.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Tongaat CBD today after he was found in possession of straws of whoonga with a street value of about R7000.

The man was arrested by the SAPS Tongaat crime prevention members in the CBD.

“While patrolling police noticed the man carrying an orange lunch bag.

“They stopped and searched him and found small clear packets containing straws of whoonga.

“He was arrested and detained at the police station cells and is expected to appear at the Verulam Magistrate Court tomorrow (Wednesday),” said Tongaat SAPS spokesperson captain Patrick Ngwane.
