WATCH: Gun fight on N2 as security guards give chase from Sheffield Beach
The chase continued onto the southbound lane of the N2 where IPSS reaction officers were allegedly shot at in the vicinity of Salt Rock and, in retaliation, an officer returned fire.
Multiple shots were fired at a Ballito security company this morning shortly before 5am when they gave chase after a suspicious vehicle which had been spotted in Sheffield Beach.
The vehicle was first spotted travelling along Colwyn Drive at Sheffield Beach.
IPSS Electronic Security spotted the vehicle through one of the company’s live feed security cameras.
When they approached the vehicle it sped off.
A chase ensued and an additional two vehicles were called in to assist in pulling over the fleeing vehicle.

Fortunately, nobody was injured during the chase however, the suspicious vehicle managed to escape.
