Team work sees to arrest of suspected Ballito home burglars

A neighbour managed to accurately take down the number plate of the burglar's getaway vehicle.

An off-duty reaction officer employed at a local security company as well as a vigilant neighbour are both owed thanks for their efforts which led to the successful arrest of suspected housebreakers within 12 hours of allegedly burgling a Ballito residence.

According to reports, an Ellis Place property was burgled around 4.20am last Wednesday and a variety of items were stolen with the alleged thieves successfully getting away.

However, an ever watchful neighbour managed to accurately take down the description of the vehicle and number plate and shared it to a local WhatsApp group where it was later picked up on by IPSS Security.

At 3.30pm on November 20, an off-duty IPSS Security reaction officer spotted a vehicle matching the description.

Back-up soon arrived and the alleged burglars were arrested on the Shaka’s Head bridge.
