In a space of two weeks, three people walking or jogging in Salt Rock and Chaka’s Rock were the victims of crime.
Most recently last Thursday a domestic worker was mugged by two men in Salt Rock on her way back from the shop.
According to Stuart Weston of IGS Investigation And Guarding Services, the men took her cell phone and money that she had withdrawn from an ATM.
“They ran into the bush near the Salt Rock library. She later identified one of the men from a photo,” said Stuart who hoped to make an arrest soon.
A female jogger was assaulted by two men while out running on Chaka’s Rock on May 29.
She was running towards Simbithi Estate when she was allegedly attacked by two men and dragged into nearby bushes.
Her clothing was ripped but fortunately, she managed to escape and a case of attempted assault was opened at the Umhlali Saps.
A domestic worker was held-up by three men on May 26 while walking along Ocean Drive in Salt Rock at around 4pm.
The woman managed to flag down a security patrol team and the security company apprehended two of the three men fleeing on foot towards Mount Richmore.
