Murder-suicide in KwaDukuza CBD has police guessing

It is believed that the 31-year-old man was in the woman's car in Chief Albert Luthuli Street when he shot her.

In a murder-suicide shooting in the middle of KwaDukuza yesterday, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly shot and killed by the father of her child before he turned the gun on himself.

It is believed that the 31-year-old man was in the woman’s car in Chief Albert Luthuli Street when he shot her. The man later died at a local hospital.

KwaDukuza police spokesperson, Priya Nunkumar, said police were still investigating the motive for the killings.

“All we know at this stage is that the two adults were sitting in the car on Chief Albert Luthuli Street and they are both now deceased. We do not know what transpired,” said Nunkumar.

The firearm was recovered at the scene and a murder case and inquest docket was open at KwaDukuza SAPS.
