Ndwedwe police commander gunned down in Bhamshela

Ndawonde's murder comes after the killing of five young men who were recently shot dead in the same area.

KwaZulu-Natal police have set in motion the 72-hour activation plan to find and arrest the culprits in the murder of the acting station commander from Ndwedwe police station.
Acting Ndwedwe police station commander, lieutenant colonel Jabulani Ndawonde, was gunned down last night in Bhamshela.
According to Courier sources, Ndawonde was followed by a mini pick-up truck, with four men inside who opened fire on him near Bhamshela taxi rank.
The 55-year-old policeman died of his injuries at the scene.
The motive for his murder is still unknown.
Ndawonde’s murder follows the murder of five young men who were recently shot dead in the same area.
