Huge drug find at Dube TradePort warehouse
Police had been monitoring various shipping containers arriving in the country from Brazil through Durban harbour.

Cocaine with an estimated value of R80-million was discovered in a warehouse at the Dube TradePort on Friday afternoon.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, police had been monitoring various shipping containers arriving in the country from Brazil through Durban harbour.
“Police tracked one container to the Dube TradePort in which 228 blocks of cocaine were found concealed in meat boxes,” said Mathe.
No arrests have been made, but an investigation is being conducted to determine the drug consignment’s destination.
Friday’s bust was the second in just two days, following the seizure of cocaine worth R70-million from another container at the Durban harbour.
National police commissioner General Fannie Masemolav commended the dedicated team for their role “in disrupting transnational criminal activities linked to drug trafficking”.
He reiterated Saps’ commitment to intensify efforts to combat drug trafficking and associated organised crime.
