Police find severely dehydrated missing Lindelani child

Police also arrested five people, including two teenagers, for rape cases last Wednesday.

A missing six-year-old severely dehydrated and hungry Lindelani girl was rushed to hospital after she was found by police at Shakaville Primary School last Friday.

She was allegedly taken from the school by her father last Thursday without the knowledge of her mother.

The mother reported her daughter missing when she didn’t return from school.

According to iLembe cluster spokesperson, captain Alex Thomson, the mother did not know where the father stays.

Police proceeded to the father’s workplace but were informed he had not been at work since the previous Sunday.

The case is under investigation by the iLembe district family violence, crime protection and sexual offences unit.

iLembe district commissioner Major-General Anthony Gopaul said they are working closely with all parties involved to understand the full scope of the incident and to take appropriate actions to protect the child’s interests.
