Tongaat cop fatally shot in Pietermaritzburg

This marks the second local police officer killed this month.

A Tongaat police officer was shot and killed in Pietermaritzburg last Friday.

Constable Lindokuhle Nxumalo was killed during an altercation with another man, who pulled out a gun and shot him.

The 31-year-old officer, who was off-duty at the time, was rushed to a nearby clinic where he was pronounced dead.

This marks the second local police officer killed this month.

Earlier, Sundumbili police officer, Sergeant Sibongiseni Khoza, was shot and killed while responding to a complaint in Mandeni.
