Teen claims his drink was spiked, fights off attacker with a pocket knife
Tongaat teen and man file competing charges with police.
A 17-year-old teenager was allegedly sexually assaulted in Tongaat last week after allegedly being drugged by a stranger who offered him a drink.
His alleged attacker claims the teen’s assault on him was unprovoked and has opened a case of attempted murder, while the teenager has opened a case of sexual assault.
Last Tuesday the 47-year-old man was discovered next to the road bleeding from multiple stab wounds.
Tongaat police spokesperson, Captain Jasanathan Naidoo, said the teenager claims to have been approached by the man earlier that day in the Tongaat Central Business District (CBD).
“He says the man offered him an energy drink and invited the boy to accompany him to a local tavern. The next thing the teenager remembers is waking up in Amanzimyama Park, where he felt the man kissing his neck,” said Naidoo.
The teenager grabbed his okapi knife from his pocket and stabbed the man multiple times.
