Ford Ranger found completely stripped three hours after being stolen

Car thieves make short work of dismantling bakkie.

A Ford Ranger stolen in Thembeni, Groutville, was found stripped in Melville, KwaDukuza, early on Thursday morning only hours after being reported taken.

KwaDukuza police spokesperson, constable Siphesihle Myeni, said the vehicle was stolen at around 1am and was found abandoned at around 4am, completely stripped of its engine, gearbox and headlights.

Kyle van Reenen, general manager of Ensure Security, said they assisted Matrix vehicle tracking to recover the stolen Ranger.

Police are investigating.
