Three foreign nationals nabbed in Ballito cocaine bust

The first arrest was made inside a residential estate in Ballito.

Three Nigerians were arrested and over 1.5kg of cocaine seized in a major drug bust during a sting operation in the Umhlali policing precinct.

The operation was led by the iLembe District Police in collaboration with the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit.

Officers swooped on locations in and around Ballito, arresting the first alleged dealer, a 28-year-old man, at a residential estate. He was found in possession of 1.46 kilograms of powdered and rock cocaine.

The second man, aged 23, was found with 86 grams of cocaine, while the third, a 27-year-old man, was arrested at a hotel in Ballito with a similar quantity of the drug.

All three were taken into custody and appeared in the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court.

They have been charged with possession of cocaine and remain in police custody.
