Two women were arrested for drug possession during an operation that recovered hundreds of pieces of rock cocaine and whoonga capsules in Nkobongo on Thursday.

According to iLembe police communications official Priya Nunkumar, a 69-year-old woman was the first to be caught.

“Police recovered 402 pieces of rock cocaine and 374 whoonga capsules from her home,” said Nunkumar.

The second suspect, a 42-year-old woman, was later arrested after being found in possession of 10 pieces of rock cocaine.

Both women were charged with possession of drugs and will appear at the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court.
